In recent years, my country's automotive rubber products industry has introduced foreign advanced technology, equipment and technological transformation, and a number of key enterprises with large production scale and high professional level have emerged, gradually forming a relatively complete industrial system that can basically meet the needs of and adapt to the needs of my country's automobile industry.
At present, there are about 30 skeleton oil seal factories in China with a certain scale and level, with a total production capacity of about 200 million pieces. At present, China can produce automobile-specific skeleton oil seals with various structures including internal and external skeleton oil seals, pressure-resistant oil seals and fluid dynamic oil seals with main lip return oil lines, etc., which can meet the needs of the domestic automobile market. However, due to the increase in speed of automobiles and the addition of fuel additives, the operating temperature, medium resistance and accuracy of the oil seal have been increasingly improved. For example, the linear speed of the rear oil seal lip of some car crankshafts can reach 200 meters/second, and the lip temperature can reach 250°C. The original oil seal structure and material are no longer suitable for use. Oil seals in foreign automobile engines are generally made of fluorosilicone rubber, acrylic rubber and fluororubber. NBR/PTFE composite oil seal can extend the oil seal life to 4000-4500h, that is, the driving mileage can reach 130,000km-180,000km.
However, my country's automobile oil seals are still dominated by nitrile rubber. Although a few manufacturers can produce fluororubber and acrylic oil seals, the output and quality cannot keep up with the needs of the automobile industry, and their service life is less than 100,000 kilometers. Oil seals for key parts of high-end cars, such as crankshaft rear oil seals, automobile guide rod oil seals, etc., still rely on imported parts, and the localization rate is very low. For the skeleton oil seal, further improving the heat resistance, dynamic fatigue resistance and compression permanent deformation resistance of the rubber material, improving the level of tooling and automation, and improving the precision of mold processing are all future tasks. The main material of the oil seal will be widely used fluorosilicone rubber, chloroether rubber, hydrogenated nitrile rubber and acrylate rubber.
There are more than 60 sealing strip manufacturers in my country, with 49 production lines for various automobile sealing strips, with a total annual production capacity of 200 million meters.
Sealing strips are one of the fastest growing industries in my country's rubber products industry in recent years. No matter the output, output value or profit, there has been substantial growth, and a professional system has basically been formed. The production plant has introduced production technology, equipment and testing instruments from Italian Seja Seal Company. The technology and product quality are equivalent to the international level in the 1990s. It can design and develop products on its own and basically meet the needs of the domestic car industry. The rubber varieties are basically EPDM rubber. The future development direction will be to use TPE as sealing strips, TPV as glass guide grooves, and new processes of multi-faceted flocking and extrusion lamination.
